Oh, The ‘Pimp is oh-so-happy at this bit of news!
We have been enjoying using XBMC as an alternative media player to iTunes on our classic AppleTV. Why? Well, for one, a hacked AppleTV with XBMC doesn’t require all your media to be loaded into iTunes. You just point XBMC to your computer, and BAM!
Nothing wrong with iTunes for most folks, but I have video files that aren’t compatible with iTunes, like Windows Media, Flash, and AVI. iTunes only supports MP4/M4V, and Quicktime MOV files. So, if you want to see other file formats on your AppleTV, you’re out of luck.
Now that XMBC love comes to the new hotness AppleTV 2, which drives our Samsung 46″ in the family room. Soon as The ‘Pimp is comfortable with hacking his little black brick of joy, you’ll see a review right here.
